Eliminate stubborn fat once and for all

At Skincredible, we are excited to offer CoolSculpting®, an FDA-cleared treatment that freezes stubborn fat in hard to reach areas.

What area would you like to treat?

Freeze Your Fat Off – Get the Body of Your Dreams

You feel like you're in pretty good shape, but those fat bulges and jiggly areas are just not going away no matter how many lunges you do. What if something as simple as a lunch-time CoolSculpting procedure could give you what you desire – a toned and contoured body?

CoolSculpting is a ground-breaking fat reduction treatment designed to freeze the stubborn fat cells in your body without any invasive surgery or downtime.

What is CoolSculpting Treatment?

CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared treatment that specifically targets unwanted fat cells in the body through a process known as cryolipolysis. This innovative technology uses intense cold to freeze and destroy the fat stored in the treated areas. Over time, these treated fat cells are expelled out by the body through natural processes.

The best part? These fat cells are permanently removed from the body!

If you are looking for a non-invasive, safe, and gentle fat reduction treatment, then a CoolSculpting procedure is worth looking into. Our providers at Skincredible Dermatology & Surgery perform this treatment right in the office, without any anesthetics or recovery period.

You can literally come in for a session during your lunch break and go right back to work afterward!

CoolSculpting is a great option for people who have gone through the traditional route of diet and exercise to lose fat, but have failed to see the desired results. If your belly fat is refusing to leave you, you are not alone.

Fat cells in the stomach area have a much higher concentration of alpha receptors – compared to other parts of your body – which makes them really tough to eliminate.

This is why when people go on a fat loss diet and exercise regimen, they see results in the face, chest, and arms pretty quickly; their belly fat is usually the last to go.

If this is you, CoolSculpting might be able to solve your problem.

How Does CoolSculpting Fat Reduction Work?

CoolSculpting, or cryolipolysis, uses freezing cold temperatures to kill fat cells. Multiple studies have shown that while cold temperatures have the strongest impact on fat cells, it doesn’t damage the underlying tissue or skin.

During the treatment, your provider will vacuum the skin above the targeted area into an applicator that will freeze the fat cells. Most of our patients report feeling a tingling and cooling sensation.

Depending on the area you want to target, one CoolSculpting procedure can take around 35–60 minutes. Since there is no need for anesthesia and there’s absolutely no damage to the skin, you don’t have to wait for the treated areas to heal. You can walk out of the clinic within a few minutes of the procedure.

The process of fat-freezing essentially crystallizes the  fat cells causing them to rupture. This causes the unwanted fat cells to die while leaving surrounding tissue, muscle, and nerves unaffected.

A handheld device is used to perform the CoolSculpting procedure in the treated area. The device is equipped with applicators that look somewhat like the nozzles of a vacuum cleaner.

During your appointment, a provider will apply a gel pad and the applicator to the treatment area. This applicator will administer controlled cooling to the fat. At Skincredible Dermatology & Surgery, we can treat multiple target areas in one sitting.

What Areas Can We Treat With CoolSculpting?

The FDA has cleared CoolSculpting to treat nine different areas of the body:

Love Handles (Flanks)

If the excess fat in your flanks is “pinchable,” CoolSculpting can target it.

Abdomen

If your belly hangs over the top of your pants or you have a “spare tire”, you can get a flatter stomach with CoolSculpting.

Thighs

Fat in both outer and inner thigh areas can be targeted with CoolSculpting. If you’ve always dreamt of a thigh gap, this is for you.

Banana Roll (Under the Buttocks)

Both men and women have a hard time losing fat from this area. CoolSculpting can help you get rid of those unsightly banana rolls and get a slimmer lower buttock contour.

Double Chin

Slim and sculpt the area under your chin with CoolSculpting, and see visible results in one sitting.

Back Fat

Want your clothes to lay smoother against your back? If diet and exercise haven’t shown you the results you desire, try CoolSculpting.

Upper Arms

Nobody likes to look at their “bat wings”. If your upper arm flab has proven to be too stubborn, give it a dose of CoolSculpting fat removal treatment.

Bra Fat

The area under your bra, or the “bra bulge”, can be hard to get rid of – unless you use CoolSculpting to kill fat cells.

Submandibular Area (Below the Jawline)

That chiseled, razor-sharp jawline is no longer a pipe dream for many, thanks to CoolSculpting. It can contour this area and further reduce the appearance of a double chin.

Is CoolSculpting Procedure Right For Me?

At Skincredible Dermatology & Surgery, we like to say that if it’s pinchable, it’s freezable! Pinchable fat cells refer to the subcutaneous fat layer between your muscles and skin. And as many of our patients have experienced, this fat layer is the most difficult to eliminate with diet and exercise alone.

However, there are a few other criteria you have to meet in order to qualify for the nonsurgical fat-reduction wonder of CoolSculpting. While this fat reduction procedure is considered far safer than other surgical fat-reduction treatments – like liposuction – it’s not for everyone.

To be specific, CoolSculpting treatment  is not for you if:

  • You are morbidly obese
  • You have poor skin elasticity
  • You have an underlying skin condition, such as dermatitis, rosacea, or eczema in the intended treatment area
  • You have a history of anorexia or bulimia in the past year
  • You have an auto-immune disorder, such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or multiple sclerosis
  • You have excessive scarring in the treatment area
  • You are pregnant

You are a great candidate for our Skincredible Dermatology & Surgery if you’ve been unable to lose those last few pounds you need to attain your desired body shape.

It’s best if you are within 30 pounds of your ideal weight, but have fat deposits in the buttocks, thighs, love handles, and abdomen.

We don’t recommend CoolSculpting for people who want to lose a lot of weight, fast, without changing their diet and lifestyle first.

Please keep in mind that this is not a magic get-thin-overnight treatment. If and only if you are devoted to continuing to eat healthy and exercise regularly, will you be a good candidate for CoolSculpting. Otherwise, the fat will re-accumulate in your body.

What Can I Expect From My CoolSculpting Session?

Here at Skincredible Dermatology & Surgery, we begin with determining your personal body-contouring goals and creating a customized fat-freezing plan accordingly.

Since the treatment is non-invasive, you don’t need to do much ahead of your appointment. Just wear loose, comfortable clothing for the appointment.

During your CoolSculpting session, we will start with cleansing the targeted area and applying a gel pad to it. This pad will act as a barrier between your skin and the cooling panel. After the gel pad is applied, the applicator will start sucking your skin and fat between the cooling plates.

You may experience slight tugging, pulling, tingling, or pinching during the process, but it will go away within a few minutes. Most patients listen to music, read a book, or watch TV during the treatment, while some prefer to sit back and relax.

As mentioned earlier, there is no downtime, so you can return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment. Your body will naturally eliminate the dead fat cells over the next several weeks, but you’ll start to see drastic results in the treated areas at about four weeks.

It usually takes about six months for patients to see their final results.

If you’re wondering how many sessions you’d need, that will depend on several factors including the amount of fat you have and the size of the treatment area. Your dermatologist will be better able to answer that after your initial appointment.
